@ the inadvertent farmer - you rock! Thanks to you as well - it takes genuine kindness to keep a stray. I know cats aren't as lucky very often, there's just more of them. The kitten is very cute and the city quite big, so I'm sure he'll find a home quickly. :)

@ Avis - I know! And he gets along with resident cats quite well, providing entertainment to their routine lives. But he has a very good chance to get adopted, so it'll free us up to find more :)

@ Patience - he sure is. Thanks so much for stopping by. We just thought we have three cats, what's one more? lol

He looks pretty much at home stretched out in that chair ;-) You may not want to let him go when the time comes. Cheers!

As a 'mom' to more strays than I can count THANKS so much for what you do. Our local shelter is a 'no kill' for dogs but alas cats are not as lucky. I'm so glad the neighbors found theirs and have great hopes that you little kitten will find a forever home, Kim

@ Miss Daisy - thanks! I'm super happy the neighbor found her cat - she was literally in tears, and I know how sad it is when they go missing. I wish we had tracking technology in their microchips. Since we have three cats it was easy to find room for one more - at least temporarily :)

@ Teena in TO - he is very cute! Our cats never go outside either, and neither does the neighbors cat, they figure she must have snuck out while they were leaving through the garage. She's a shy cat too, so she wouldn't have asked for help either...

@ Water Roots - me too!!! And I'm not taking all the credit for kindness - there are tons of us animal lovers out there, and some volunteers really go the distance. But I have a philosophy that until I'm a part of the solution I shouldn't open my mouth about the cause.... and I like to be vocal on the subject :) And yes, if I could I'd run a sanctuary right here... but as long as there are people adopting pets, and promoting neutering we're making progress. :)

I love happy endings! And you're amazingly kind and loving to these homeless yet loving souls. I too am a softie for furry faces and wish I could take all the animals home with me from the humane society.

What beautiful pictures of your cat and what a heartwarming story. I'm glad your neighbor found their cat, too! I hope this cat works out well for you and that it didn't learn too many bad habits! It's so sweet of you to take it in and give it a home.
