You grew your first tomatoes. Good job. Doesn't matter how long they take every bite is worth it. I'm so sorry to hear you've had such an awful season. Ours happened to be unusually good. I planted 3 variety of tomatoes last year and right before frost I was out harvesting loads of green tomatoes. I had to wait nearly 3 weeks for them to all ripen up. This year I'm giving away so many it breaks my heart. I know a year like this won't come back around for a long time. Hooray! You grew your first tomatoes. Good job.
